Device Profile: Neonode N1 "limitless" mobile device
(Apr. 30, 2003)

Is the Neonode N1 a mobile phone? A personal organizer? A digital camera? A multimedia jukebox? A gaming machine? A remote control?

The correct answer appears to be "all of the above," rolled together into a single compact mobile device with "limitless" features, according to Neonode Corp. (Sweden), which plans to introduce the N1 in May 2003.

The do-anything gadget is based on a 110 MHz ARM720T system-on-chip processor equipped with 16MB SDRAM, running an embedded Windows CE .NET operating system.

Neonode says its N1 offers full multimedia playback and stereo sound, is capabile of serving as an MP3 jukebox with up to 1 gigabyte of removable storage containing the equivalent of 40 music CDs, and even be used as a TV remote control! For even greater flexibility, its USB port lets users connect external peripherals such as a keyboard or mouse.
