AT Labs NB-7500 Netbook -- June 11, 2007 -- The NB-7500 appears to be a generic laptop but uses a 512 MB flash Disk on Module (DOM) in place of a hard disk to run Windows XP Embedded. It features a 1.6 GHz Intel CPU with a 14.1-inch 1024 x 768, 32 bit color display. A PCMCIA slot serves for wireless communication options. details



Athena T3000 series -- Mar. 09, 2007 -- The four models in the T3000 series are based on 1GHz Via Eden processors and are offered with a choice of Windows CE, Windows XP Embedded, or Linux internal OSes. Two of the units are packaged in compact standalone enclosures while the other two are embedded directly within 17- or 19-inch LCD monitors. details

Athena T2117FM -- June 28, 2006 -- Athena claims the T2117FM is the first fanless, thin client terminal integrated directly into a TFT LCD monitor and is well-suited to critical care environments in hospitals. Competing products with active cooling pose a problem for critical care environments such as intensive care units (ICUs) and operating rooms because they can contribute to "viral and bacterial pollution." The T2117FM is available with either Windows CE or XP Embedded running on a Via Eden processor. details



B & R Power Panel 100 -- Aug. 11, 2004 -- This line of fanless industrial workstations runs Windows CE and offers display sizes ranging from 5.7 to 15 inches. The Power Panel 100 series thin clients share a common architecture based on a 233MHz Geode SC2200 processor equipped with 16MB of DRAM and 2MB of Flash memory. A CompactFlash slot offers convenient and reliable solid-state storage expansion. details



Black Seal Systems Sealed-XP Embedded Client Device -- Jul. 21, 2005 -- This device is aimed at embedded systems for a variety of vertical markets, including thin client architecture, automotive computing, industrial control systems, human interface devices, POS/POT systems, and "wherever our customers' vision leads us," the company says. Black Seal works with individual customers to determine their needs for a custom-built Windows XP Embedded or Windows CE operating system image. The device is built on a Via x86-based Mini-ITX embedded motherboard, and is offered in several processor clock speeds, and a wide range of DDR memory capacities. details



Blue Shark Technologies Apriza 5400 and 5410 -- Oct. 07, 2005 -- These devices share an identical hardware platform based on a 400 MHz Via Eden processor and both run Windows CE 5.0. The 5410 adds an Ericom PowerTerm terminal emulation suite. details

Blue Shark Technologies Apriza 5800 -- Aug. 19, 2005 -- The Apriza 5800 runs Windows CE 5.0 on a 1 GHz VIA C3 processor packed inside a 17-inch, high-resolution LCD flat-panel enclosure. The device supports ICA Version 8.33 and RDP Version 5.2 communications protocols for Windows Terminal Server connectivity, and it offers a wide array of terminal emulations. details

Blue Shark Technologies Apriza 5600 -- Jun. 22, 2005 -- The second member of the company's Apriza 5000 line to run Windows Embedded features a smaller memory complement than its predecessor and runs Windows CE 5.0, rather than Windows XP Embedded. It runs on a 1 GHz Via C3 embedded processor with 128 MB DRAM and 64 MB of IDE flash memory. details

Blue Shark Technologies Apriza 5700 -- Jun. 15, 2005 -- The Apriza 5700 uses a low power 1 GHz Via C3 processor for "blazing fast" performance in a fanless design, according to the company. It runs Windows XP Embedded and features 256 MB of DDR Memory and 256 MB of IDE Flash. Both VGA and DVI video outputs are available, supporting resolutions up to 1600x1200 in 16-bit color. details



Bosanova RBT-820 -- Jan. 12, 2007 -- The compact RBT-820 runs Windows CE and is designed to mount on the back of a monitor. It is based on a 500MHz LX800@0.8 processor with 128MB of RAM, and 64MB to 128MB of flash memory. Interfaces include 10/100 Ethernet supporting PXE-boot, audio in/out, and four USB 2.0 host ports. Additionally, an internal WiFi radio is available. details

Bosanova XTC-400 -- Sep. 19, 2003 -- based on a 400MHz VIA processor and running Windows XP Embedded. The device comes with 256MB memory and 256MB of Flash memory, allowing customers to integrate additional custom or commercially available software into the terminals. details
Bosanova XTC 1000 -- Aug. 10, 2004 -- Based on a 1 GHz Via Eden processor running Windows XP Embedded, the XTC 1000 is said to provide exceptional performance for applications running locally. The device boasts an AGP 84X 2D/3D graphic acceleration, an internal PCI expansion slot, and a PCMCIA card slot. details



Clear Cube I8820 "virtual client" -- Apr. 24, 2006 -- Clear Cube's "virtual client" offers secure remote access to a dedicated bladeserver running Windows XP. This differs from the traditional thin client model, in which multiple clients share time on centralized servers. However, the underlying technology -- RDP -- is borrowed from the thin client world. The I8820 runs Windows XP Embedded on an AMD Geode processor. details



Chip PC Tech. Jack PC -- Oct. 28, 2005 -- About as "thin" as a thin client can get, the Jack PC takes "zero desk space" by converting existing enterprise LAN jacks into full-function Windows CE-powered thin client computers. The unit runs an AMD Au1550 Alchemy processor with up to 128 MB of DDR RAM and 64 MB of DiskOnChip (DoC) Flash storage. details



CompuMaster XP6700 -- Feb. 23, 2007 -- This series of three Windows XP Embedded-based thin clients can drive up to four simultaneous displays using Matrox graphics boards. The units come with Matrox PowerDesk software, which is used for managing multi-display client desktops from the server. details

CompuMaster TwinTerm -- Jan. 25, 2007 -- The TwinTerm supports Twinax terminal access to IBM S/36, S/38, or AS/400 systems. It runs Windows CE and provides traditional "green screen" display sessions on IBM systems using any commercially available CRT or LCD display. The native emulator supports connection to IBM AS/400 systems emulating all common IBM terminal types -- 5251, 5291, 3196, 3180-2, 3477-FG, and 3477-FC. details



CLI ET6500x, ET6510x -- June 12, 2006 -- The high-performance ET6500x series runs Windows XP Embedded on a 1GHz AMD Geode NX1500 processor with up to 1GB of DRAM and 4GB of flash memory. The ET6510x is identical to the ET6500x, but adds a 3/4-length PCI expansion slot. details

CLI MT35x0x -- Apr. 20, 2006 -- The MT3500x series has the same form-factor as the MT1500x series, but substitutes an AMD Geode LX 800 for the Geode GX 466 used in earlier models. Three versions are offered -- a basic configuration, a unit with an internal smart card reader, and a third model that adds 802.11 WiFi. All models come with Windows XP Embedded. details

CLI ET4510x, ET4520x & g -- Mar. 16, 2006 -- These units are built on the same platform as the ET4500 and ET5500 listed below but offer expansion capabilities in the form of a PCMCIA slot (ET4520) or an unusual, three-quarter-length PCI card slot attached to the side of the ET4510 (shown here). The x models run Windows XP Embedded while the ET4520g runs Windows CE. details

CLI MT1500x -- Sep. 06, 2005 -- Based on the same platform as the MT1500g and MT1550g, the MT1500x can be wall-mounted or attached directly to a VESA-compliant monitor. It runs Windows XP Embedded SP1 on an AMD Geode GX 466 processor. details

CLI ET4500g and x, ET5500g and x -- May 05, 2005 -- These four thin clients share a common platform based on a 667 MHz Via Eden processor. The "g" models have minimal RAM/Flash memory and run Windows CE 5.0, while the "x" versions sport larger memory and run Windows XP Embedded with support for Windows Media Player and Java Virtual Machine (JVM). details

CLI MT1200c, MT1500g, and MT1550g -- May 03, 2005 -- This trio of devices runs Windows CE 5.0 on AMD Geode GX processors. The MT1200c is a basic unit supporting access to remote Windows-hosted applications. The higher-end MT1500g and MT1500g add Internet Explorer and multiple text terminal emulations for legacy applications.. details

CLI ET3000 thin client -- Aug. 13, 2003 -- Computer Lab International's family of Windows CE .NET-based thin client devices include the ET3000, based on a 233 MHz Geode processor, the low-cost ET1500, that also runs on CE .NET, priced from $349, and the ET5000, supporting 802.11b wireless LAN via PCMCIA.



Concept Distribution miniTC -- Jun. 16, 2005 -- This tiny Geode-based thin client runs Windows CE 5.0 and can be easily attached to the back of a flat screen monitor, according to the company. It is also available as a "miniPC with a 40 or 80 GB hard drive. details



Devon IT NTA 8020C -- Jun. 09, 2006 -- The 8020C ups the processor speed and doubles the memory of its predecessor, the 8010C introduced last year. The unit runs Windows XP Embedded on an 800 MHz Via C3 processor with 512 MB each of RAM and flash. details

Devon IT NTA 8010C -- Aug. 08, 2005 -- A member of the company's NTA Virtual Office (NTAVO) line, the 8010C runs Windows XP Embedded on a 733MHz Via C3 processor with 256MB of SDRAM and 256MB of Flash. It "offers seamless connectivity to the widest range of Windows applications and devices," according to the company. The 8010C is built on the same platform as Devon's 6010 series of Linux-based thin clients. details



DSP Designs POET6000 -- July 28, 2004 -- This ultra-thin flat panel PC is powered through the Ethernet cable using the Power Over Ethernet (PoE) standard, IEEE 802.3af. The device is based on a 300MHz Geode GX1 processor with 256MB of SDRAM plus a 512MB CompactFlash card for solid-state disk storage. It comes with Windows XP Embedded preinstalled in the CompactFlash card. At less than 1 inch thick, the POET6000 is said to be ideal for wall mounting. details



Fujitsu-Siemens Futro D100 -- Nov. 11, 2002 -- The Futro D100, from the Siemens operation of Fujitsu, is a thin client in a compact, fanless, diskless and networked small form factor. The Futro D100 is available with Windows XP Embedded. details

Fujitsu-Siemens Futro S Series -- July 12, 2004 -- The Futro S line of solid-state thin clients use just 25 watts, about 80 percent less power than PCs. Based on the Transmeta Crusoe processor, they'reare no larger than medium-sized books. The high-end model can run Windows XP Embedded. details



HP Compaq Thin Client t5520 -- Jun. 07, 2005 -- Based on a Via Eden embedded processor clocked at 800MHz, the t5520 runs Windows CE 5.0 and supports Citrix ICA, Microsoft RDP, and X-terminal protocols. It includes 128MB of RAM, 64 MB of Flash, and an S3 graphics chip with screen resolution to 1280 x 1024. details

HP Compaq Thin Client t5700 -- Sep. 9, 2003 -- key features include a powerful 1GHz Transmeta processor, Windows XP embedded OS, high resolution graphics, 16-bit stereo sound, four USB ports, and options for wireless networking and external storage and security devices. It also includes Internet Explorer 6.0. details



IGEL-2510 XP Smart -- Dec. 12, 2006 -- The IGEL-2510 XP Smart is based on a 400MHz Via Eden processor, runs Windows XP Embedded, supports dual monitors, and is compatible with a wide range of networking and communications protocols. The device's display controller supports up to 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution 24-bit color graphics, and a smart card reader option allows for enhanced system security. details

IGEL 5512 XP Premium -- Jan. 09, 2006 -- The first Igel thin client to run Windows XP Embedded, this represents the "top of the line" in the company's thin client family. The unit runs a VIA C3 LP processor at 1 GHz with up to 1 GB of RAM and 512 MB of Flash. Expansion features include both PCI and PCMCIA slots and support for an integral SmartCard reader/writer. details

IGEL 132 CE Smart -- June 22, 2005 (updated Mar. 14, 2006) -- IGEL claims to have "redefined the entry-level segment" of the thin client market with this Windows CE device priced at $249. The 132 CE Smart is based on a 400 MHz Via Eden CPU with 128 MB of RAM standard, expandable to 1 GB. It is also claimed to provide a "broader feature set than other entry-level thin clients." details

IGEL 1532 and 1564 CE IQ -- Apr. 01, 2005 -- These two models in the company's "Elegance line" integrate the thin client electronics directly into an LCD monitor, resulting in a high-performance, "optically pleasing" computer with minimum space requirements. They run Windows CE 5.0 on a 400 MHz VIA Eden processor with 64 MB or 128 MB of RAM and a 15-inch LCD screen. details

IGEL Compact Series -- Jan. 14, 2005 (updated Mar. 14, 2006) -- IGEL's Compact Series thin clients run either Windows CE 5.0 or Windows XP Embedded on a 533MHz VIA Eden CPU. The devices boast high resolution graphics and sound, making them well suited to multi-media applications, and include a built-in smartcard reader/writer for enhanced security and personalization. details

IGEL thin client terminals -- Feb. 11, 2003 -- the IGEL 216CE, aimed at the entry-level market, is based on a 300MHz National GX1 Geode processor which boots Windows CE from CompactFlash. The higher-end IGEL-232CE, based on a VIA Eden 533, adds a bunch of software features, including the RDP protocol, printer sofware and support for legacy applications. details



I-O Corp. Pro|Edge series -- June 15, 2007 -- Described as "about the size of a three-CD set," the Pro|Edge thin client series is available with either Windows CE or Windows XP Embedded. Processor speed ranges from 533 MHz to 1 GHz. On most models RAM is expandable to a gigabyte and flash to 8 GB. details



Kontron M@CX series -- Dec. 17, 2004 -- The M@CX family of fanless thin client display and service terminals runs Windows CE on Intel XScale processors. In this case, "thin" refers not only to functionality, but to physical size, for the thin client devices are a mere 45mm (1.8 inches) thick. details



Maxspeed Secure MaxTerm -- Sep. 17, 2003 -- this "highly secure" thin client terminal powered by Windows XP Embedded makes use of Cryptek's DiamondAgent IPsec software client to provide enhanced security features such as additional firewall level access control, centrally stored client policies, and network address translation (NAT) traversal standards. details



Motion Computing M1400TC -- Jan. 26, 2005 -- This is Motion Computing's M1400 Tablet PC with Windows XP Embedded substituted for Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. The device is useful for equipping mobile workers with tablet-style computing resources, while keeping sensitive information on secure network servers, the company says. details



Neoware e90 and e140 -- Jan. 23, 2006 -- These units are available with either Windows CE or Windows XP Embedded. The e90 (left) runs an 800 MHz Via processor while the e140 (right) runs at 1 GHz and offers DVI digital video output. Both devices feature a built-in power supply that eliminates the external power "brick" required with many other thin clients. details

Neoware c50 -- Nov. 14, 2005 -- The c50, available with either Windows CE or Windows XP Embedded, offers a "low price point." It runs a 400MHz Via processor with up to 512 MB each of DDR RAM and Flash memory. The c50's display controller supports displays of up to 1600 x 1200 resolution in 32-bit color. details

Neoware e370 -- Nov. 14, 2005 -- The e370, available with either Windows CE or Windows XP Embedded, integrates the thin client electronics directly into a 17-inch flat panel display. It runs a 400MHz Via processor with up to 512 MB each of DDR RAM and Flash memory. It also includes a PCMCIA slot. details

Neoware Eon Prestige -- May 27, 2003 -- this LCD monitor thin client terminal is based on a 300MHz National Geode processor and boasts a 15-inch 1024x768 pixel TFT LCD display. It runs Windows XP Embedded. This device is just one of many thin client terminals made by Neoware that run Windows Embedded OSes. details



Netvoyager Neterm CE-1040 -- May 24, 2005 -- This thin client device embeds a 1GHz Via Eden processor running Windows CE directly into a 17-inch LCD monitor. Netvoyager claims that its integration of a 17-inch LCD with a 1GHz CPU is unique and represents "the largest format and the fastest processing power to date" for an LCD thin client. details



Optoma Operis-1 -- July 09, 2004 -- This webpad-style wireless thin client runs Windows CE .NET 4.2 on an Intel XScale PXA255 processor. Its "four-in-one" memory card slot offers a choice of connectivity options including WLAN and GPRS, for use with the pre-loaded Citrix ICA, RDP Clients, and local browser. Optoma positions the Operis-1 as being "less cumbersome than a laptop and more practical than a PDA." details



QSR eXpert hospitality thin client -- Oct. 3, 2003 -- QSR's thin client device for the hospitality industry is based on an AMD Geode processor running Windows XP Embedded. QSR says the device offers "superior reliability and enhanced graphical capabilities on an open, standards-based platform for running kitchen management and other hospitality applications." details



Reddline Systems Ranger V6 Quad/Player -- Apr. 05, 2004 -- This thin client "voice and information terminal" offers streaming video, audio, Web access, and VoIP services, and is designed for use with a standard analog telephone handset. The unit enables users to make telephone calls over the Internet while browsing the Web using Microsoft Internet Explorer. It's powered by an Intel Celeron LV processor running Windows CE. details



Route1 MobiBook Pro -- Oct. 14, 2005 -- This is the hardware component of an integrated mobile thin client approach that lets users remotely operate office applications without exposing data or applications outside the corporate firewall. It's an Xscale-based handheld with a full QWERTY keyboard that runs Windows CE 4.2. details



Teco TR5670-XPe -- Mar. 08, 2004 -- This compact, light weight, and fanless thin client computer system is based on a Transmeta processor running Windows XP Embedded. It offers built-in PCMCIA and PCI expansion slots along with interfaces for PS/2, USB, Fast Ethernet, 1600x1200 video, and audio I/O, and the included software supports Microsoft RDP and Citrix ICA protocols as well as various terminal emulations. details



Televideo TeleCLIENT -- Oct. 13, 2003 -- This line of thin client terminals is based on various speed Transmeta Crusoe processors running Windows XP Embedded and Windows CE .NET OSes. The devices are offered standalone, integrated with 15- and 17-inch LCDs, and with wireless and touchscreen options. details



VXL Instruments Itona TI54xx series -- July 06, 2006 -- The Itona TI54xx series clients, integrated into a 17-inch LCD monitor, feature built-in 802.11g WiFi, and support for dual monitors, a requirement for many financial applications and customer care centers. The clients are available with either Windows CE or Windows XP Embedded running on a 1 GHz VIA C3 processor with up to 1 GB each of RAM and flash. details

VXL Instruments TC36xx/37xx -- Feb. 23, 2005 -- The TC36xx/37xx devices feature 1 GHz Via C3 processors and support both Windows CE and Windows XP Embedded. They come with up to 256 MB of RAM and 256 MB of IDE Flash memory. In addition, the TC37xx models feature USB-based wireless LAN connectivity along with a USB-based internal Smart Card reader. details



Wonderware Thin Client Computer -- July 10, 2006 -- This compact, industrial-strength thin client computer runs Windows CE on a 667 MHz Via Eden processor with 128 MB each of RAM and flash. It is intended to serve as a cost-effective platform on which to implement client/server architectures using the company's InTouch software for Terminal Services. details



Wyse V-Class Dual-Video -- Jan. 17, 2007 -- This line of compact, silent, thin clients optionally supports dual displays via special monitor splitter cables. The V-Class Dual-Video clients are based on Via C7 processors with 128 or 256 MB of RAM and up to 512 MB of flash, and are available with a choice of Windows CE, Windows XP Embedded, or Linux. details

Wyse Winterm S30 -- Jan. 10, 2005 -- The Winterm S30 is about the size of a paperback book, is based on Windows CE 5.0 and is "three times faster" than previous models, Wyse says. Like the rest of the S-class family, the S30 is powered by an AMD Geode processor outfitted with 64MB of RAM and 32MB of Flash memory. The integrated video chipset meets stringent European resolution and clinical healthcare requirements, according to Wyse. details

Wyse S class and V class thin clients -- Oct. 05, 2004 -- These "sleek, compact, high-performance" thin-client devices run Windows CE. The S class, shown at left, is based on AMD Geode GX processors while the V class, shown at right, features Transmeta's Crusoe processors. Both classes emphasize low power, fanless operation and a patented, "monorail mounting system" that allows the units to be attached to walls, desks, or LCD monitors. details

Wyse Winterm family -- Apr. 21, 2003 -- This line of thin client is based on Microsoft's Windows Embedded OSes. The Winterm 3455X (photo at left) runs Windows CE .NET 4.1 and features a hardened steel case, enhanced multimedia capabilities, and a PCI expansion slot, along with "legacy" parallel and serial I/O ports. The Winterm 9650XE (photo on the right) is a flat panel thin client terminal based on Windows XP Embedded that is targeted to environments where space is precious, such as call centers, hospital nurse stations, retail point-of-sale counters, and hotel reception areas and front desks.



Xeratus Xpect Series -- Dec. 20, 2006 -- The Xpect series products are small adapters that can convert desktop and laptop PCs into solid-state thin clients running Windows XP Embedded, based on a simple, five-minute installation process. Xpect for desktops packages 512 MB to 32 GB of flash storage in a compact unit that plugs directly into the IDE connector on a PC motherboard. The laptop version substitutes for a 2.5- or 1.8-inch IDE hard drive. details

Xeratus ThinBook D Series -- Dec. 12, 2006 -- These rugged "mobile clients" run Windows XP Embedded from solid-state flash drives and comply with military standards for drop, shock, and water resistance. The ThinBook D series devices boast a magnesium alloy case and shock-absorption LCD screen that are said to comply with MIL-STD-810F, Method 516.5, Procedure IV and MIL-STD-810F, Method 514.5, Procedure I specifications, making device "one of the toughest laptops on the market and allowing safe drops where normal laptops would find it difficult to survive." details

Xeratus Xthin -- Jan. 13, 2006 -- The Xthin devices are available in four base configurations, which address different needs and markets, according to Xeratus. All come with Windows XP Embedded and a range of client applications on a CompactFlash card. All are based on VIA processors ranging from 733 MHz to 1 GHz. details

Xeratus Xnote -- Dec. 07, 2005 -- The Xnote thin client terminal is acutally a Dell Inspiron 1300 notebook running Windows XP Embedded SP2. It's based on a Celeron M 360 processor with up to 1280 MB of DDR2 RAM. A CompactFlash substitutes for the hard drive normally found in the Insiron. details
