AOL has announced a Windows Mobile application designed to provide smartphone users with access to the company's suite of online services. AOL MyMobile will offer "easy-to-use carousel navigation" and personalization, the company said.

AOL MyMobile is apparently intended to integrate the company's diverse set of offerings, making them "more than just stand-alone services." The supported functionality includes AOL Mail, AOL CityGuide, MapQuest, AOL Local Search, AOL News, Weather, AOL Sports, and AOL Pictures.

The company claims that the program's drop down lists and menus provide "access to key mobile services in the fewest number of clicks." The software learns and remembers user favorites and recent requests to "enhance the experience with each use," AOL said.

AOL also announced a redesigned portal for users of any WAP-enabled phone. This is said to provide enhanced functionality including improved search and email, plus new music, news, and entertainment channels.

According to the company, users can now set up personalized content on a desktop computer, then have it follow them onto a mobile device. This includes news headlines, sticky notes, pictures, weather, and RSS feeds.

AOL MyMobile will "soon" be available by clicking on the "Get MyMobile" link in the footer of the AOL WAP portal.
