Like the EOS-1000, the EOS-2000 (above) is built around a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 CPU and the GM45 Express chipset (GM45 northbridge and ICH9 southbridge). The system can accept up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, according to Adlink.
Adlink notes that it's good practice in vision applications to have two forms of data storage -- one for holding the operating system and other software, and the other for holding video, images, and log files. Accordingly, the EOS-2000 has a front-accessible CompactFlash slot, intended for the installation of Windows XP or Windows XP Embedded, plus an internal bay for a 2.5-inch hard disk drive.
The device's front panel, shown below left, features two gigabit Ethernet ports, a VGA output, a serial port, two USB 2.0 ports, and a PS/2 port. According to Adlink, 32 isolated digital I/O lines (16 in and 16 out) are also available. The EOS-2000's rear panel, below right, includes another serial port, two additional USB 2.0 ports, plus a microphone input and speaker output.

According to Adlink, the EOS-2000's VGA port supports displays with resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 pixels. The device, operable from 32 to 131 deg. F (0 to 55 deg. C), includes both a watchdog timer and temperature/voltage monitoring, the company adds.
