Advantech says the IPPC-8192A (above) includes two SATA interfaces, allowing drives to be installed in RAID 0 or RAID one configurations. At the back (below), the panel PC also offers a DVD-RW drive, though careful attention would have to be paid when mounting the device if optical disks are to be used for anything beyond initial OS installation.

According to Advantech, the IPPC-8192A's front panel meets IP65 standards for sealing against liquids and dust, though the rest of the device obviously requires some protection. The 19-inch screen is said to have a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels, a 300-nit brightness rating, and a 1300:1 contrast ratio, while resistive touchscreen capabilities are listed as optional.
The IPPC-8192A features Intel's Q45 GMCH chipset and ICH10 I/O controller, and is capable of accepting up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, according to Advantech. It's said processors can be any that fit Intel's LGA775 socket, ranging up to a 2.8GHz Core 2 Quad processor or a 3.0GHz Core 2 Duo.
Advantech says the IPPC-8192A's I/O includes one front-mounted USB port (under a sealing plug), plus four additional USB 2.0 ports around back. There are also three serial ports (two RS232, one RS232/422/485), two gigabit Ethernet ports, two PS/2 ports, a VGA output, and audio jacks (mic in, line in, line out), the company adds.
