Because they no longer require a separate northbridge chip, the Pineview CPUs may be paired with Intel's mobile-oriented NM10 I/O controller. The processors also work with Intel's ICH8M I/O controller, which is the component Advantech has selected for all the devices below.
As we did with the flotilla of Core i7-based devices Advantech faced us with last week, we'll take a look at the newly announced motherboards and SBCs (single-board computers) first, working our way down to modules.
Mini-ITX motherboard
Advantech's AIMB-212 uses the 6.7 x 6.7-inch Mini-ITX format, and it's offered with either the N450 or the D510. A single 200-pin DIMM slot accepts up to 2GB of memory, and the board offers 32-bit PCI, Mini PCI Express, and CompactFlash expansion slots, according to the company.

As pictured above, the AIMB-212's "coastline" includes a VGA port, two Ethernet ports, four USB 2.0 ports, three serial ports (2 RS232, 1 RS232/422/485), and audio I/O (mic in, line out, and line in). Meanwhile, internal connectors add LVDS video, four additional USB 2.0 ports, three more serial ports (RS232), and two SATA ports, according to Advantech.
More information on the AIMB-212, including a data sheet and a block diagram, may be found on the company's website, here.
EBX-format SBC
Advantech's PCM-9562 is a SBC using the 8 x 5.75-inch format, and, again, is available with either the N450 or the D510. A single 200-pin DIMM slot accepts up to 2GB of memory, and the board offers a 32-bit PCI slot, PC-104 Plus expansion, a Mini PCI Express slot, and a CompactFlash slot, according to the company.

Apart from its three SATA ports, the PCM-9562's interfaces appear to be all provided by headers rather than standard connectors. They include three gigabit Ethernet ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, 16-bit GPIO, HD audio, six serial ports (4 x RS232, 2 x RS232/422/485), plus both CRT and LVDS video outputs, according to Advantech.
So far, further information on the PCM-9562 appears to be available only on Advantech's Japanese website, here.
PCI SBC
Advantech's PCI-7031 is a half-sized PCI SBC measuring 7.3 x 4.8 inches. An N450-equipped version includes 1GB of soldered-on DDR2 RAM, while a D510-equipped version has a 200-pin DIMM socket that accepts up to 2GB of memory, according to the company. Both are said to connect four 32-bit, 33MHz PCI masters to a backplane.

Connectors on the edge of the card (above) serve up two gigabit Ethernet connectors, a PS/2 port, and a VGA output, says Advantech. Meanwhile, internal connectors are said to include LVDS, seven USB 2.0 ports, four serial ports (2 x RS232, 4 x RS485), EIDE, an EPP/ECP-compatible parallel port, and a floppy disk connector.
Further information on the PCI-7031, including a data sheet and a block diagram, may be found on Advantech's website, here.
3.5-inch SBC
Advantech's PCM-9362 is a "3.5-inch" (5.7 x 4 inches) SBC that, once again, is available with either the single-core N450 or the dual-core D510. Expandable to 2GB of RAM via a single 200-pin DIMM slot, the device has a Mini PCI Express slot and an optional MIO/160 interface, according to Advantech.

Connectors on the edge of the SBC (above) include two USB 2.0 ports, a VGA output, two gigabit Ethernet ports, and an RS232 port. Internal connectors add four more USB 2.0 ports, three more serial ports (1 x RS232/422/485, 1 x RS232, 8-bit GPIO, I2C, a PS/2 port, and a parallel port, Advantech says.
Further information on the PCM-9362, including a data sheet and a block diagram, may be found on Advantech's website, here.
PC/104-Plus SBC
Advantech's PCM-3362 employs the 3.8 x 3.5-inch PC/104-Plus form factor, offering both 16-bit ISA and 32-bit PCI expansion. It is available only with the single-core N450, and accepts up to 2GB of RAM via a single 200-pin DIMM slot, the company says.

Like most PC/104-Plus boards, the PCM-3362 (above) does not have "real-world" connectors, and makes its gigabit Ethernet interface available via a pin header. Other internal connectors include CRT and LVDS video output, four USB 2.0 ports, three serial ports (1 x RS422/485, 2 x RS232), 8-bit GPIO, PS/2, and I2C.
Further information on the PCM-3362, including a data sheet and a block diagram, may be found on Advantech's website, here.
ETX module
Advantech's SOM-4463 is a 4.5 x 3.7-inch ETX module designed for use with a separate carrier board. An ETX 3.0 device, it includes two SATA ports, but all other interfaces -- including ISA and four PCI masters -- travel through the standard ETX board-to-board pins.

Available either with the N450 or the D510, the SOM-4463 (above) is upgradeable to 2GB of DDR2 RAM via a single 200-pin SODIMM socket, according to Advantech. Both CRT and LVDS displays are supported, and other interfaces are said to include EIDE, four USB 2.0 ports, audio, and 2-bit GPIO.
Further information on the SOM-4463, including a data sheet and a block diagram, may be found on Advantech's website, here.
COM Express Compact module
Advantech's SOM-6763 uses a 3.75 x 3.75-inch format that the company terms COM-Micro, but which has been proposed for standardization under the "COM Express Compact" moniker. By whatever name, it shares the same pinout and baseboard interface connector design as other COM Express variants.

The SOM-6763, pictured above, is available either with the N450 or the D510, and includes two 200-pin SODIMM sockets, which support up to 2GB on N450 models and 4GB on D510 models, according to Advantech. The module appears to have a small connector on one of its edges, but this is not identified on the company's spec sheet. Absent further information, therefore, we'll assume all the module's interfaces communicate with the outside world via its COM Express connectors.
Advantech says the SOM-6763 has expansion busses that include four PCI masters, PCI, and five PCI Express x1 lanes (one PCI Express x4 and one PCI Express x2 are optionally available). Other interfaces include 8-bit GPIO, high-definition audio, eight USB 2.0 ports, EIDE, and three SATA II ports, the company adds.
Further information on the SOM-6763, including a data sheet and a block diagram, may be found on Advantech's website, here.
COM Express Compact module
Advantech's SOM-7562 uses the COM Express Ultra format, which was proposed for standardization last March by Advantech along with Aaeon, Adlink, and Kontron. The 3.3 x 2.17-inch format is, again, compatible with the COM Express Type I pinouts and connector location, but permits a separate connector for SDVO (serial digital video out).

The SOM-7562, pictured above, is offered only with the N450, and comes with either 1GB or 2GB of soldered-on DDR2 memory. Expansion busses include LPC and five PCI Express x1 lanes (one PCI Express x4 and one PCI Express x2 are optionally available). Other interfaces include 8-bit GPIO, high-definition audio, eight USB 2.0 ports, and three SATA II ports, the company adds.
Further information on the SOM-7562, including a data sheet and a block diagram, may be found on Advantech's website, here.
Further information
Advantech did not specify pricing or availability for its new Atom-based products, though most are listed as "coming soon." The products will support Windows 7, Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE, QNX, and Linux, the company says.
