Agilent has introduced a family of miniature camera modules for mobile phones and wireless PDAs. The modules are said to provide a complete imaging solution, including high image quality CIF or VGA resolution CMOS image sensors, tightly integrated image processor, embedded power supply, and high-quality lens.

The ADCM-1650 and ADCM-1670 camera modules support CIF (352 x 288 pixel) resolution, while the ADCM-2650 provides VGA (480 x 640 pixel) resolution. CIF resolution is recommended for phone-to-phone use, while VGA resolution is suggested for phone-to-web and phone-to-email applications, the company said.

Samples are now available now, and "high volume" pricing is less than $15 (USD), the company said.
