Users can search for content with an advanced "genre matching hierarchy" or by matching terms to the station descriptions. The software's patent-pending HyperScan technology automatically seeks favorite artists and can also be set to skip specified artists, according to the companies.
SelectRadio software is compatible with Intel XScale PXA270-powered handhelds that have 240 x 320 screens and run Windows Mobile 2003 or Windows Mobile 5.0. Internet access is either through the handheld's WiFi port or a USB-based ActiveSync connection to a desktop PC.
Cardonware and Audible Logic co-developed SelectRadio according to a spokesperson. Cardonware has background in PocketPC applications, while Audible Logic is a specialist in audio algorithms, the spokesperson said. The domain name, selectradio.com is registered to Cardon Ventures LLC, located in Phoenix, Ariz.
