The choice of Windows CE 6.0 for the Arnova 10's operating system is something of a surprise, given that Archos primarily favors Linux or Android (it recently introduced, for example, the Archos 32, a 3.2-inch Android tablet). We suspect that the Igny, France-based manufacturer's involvement in the product's design has been limited to its logo, however.

The Arnova 10 (above) is one of umpteen low-cost netbooks to emanate from China running Windows CE 5.0 or 6.0 on ARM or MIPS processors. Most of these cheapies have had seven- or eight-inch screens with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels; like the Science and Technology Ltd. Wabook introduced in April, however, the Arnova 10 gets a 10-inch screen.
Specifically, the screen of the Arnova 10 measures 10.2 inches digonally, and it presumably delivers 1024 x 600 pixels, though the story by jbmm.fr does not specify resolution. Other attributes of the devices are said to be a 533MHz Samsung processor, 128MB of RAM, and 2GB of flash storage.
According to BenMars, the Arnova 10 further includes an SD slot for up to 32GB of storage, three USB 2.0 ports, a RJ45 Ethernet port, and 802.11b/g wireless networking. The netbook is said to have a 2100mAh battery, but no claims about battery life were provided.
jbmm.fr says the Arnova 10 measures 10.62 x 7.18 x 1.22 inches (270 x 182.5 x 31mm) and weighs 2.42 pounds (1.1kg). No details of the device's software are available, though the image earlier in this story suggests that Archos has at least provided the Windows CE 6.0 operating system with a customized shell.
