Compared to the 8.9-inch T91MT, the T101MT steps up to a 10.1-inch screen (still with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution), and it also switches from a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor to a 1.66GHz Atom N450. The T101MT also provides more fixed storage: Instead of the earlier device's 32GB SSD (solid-state disk), the newer device is available with 160GB or 320GB hard disk drives, says Asus.
According to Asus, the T101MT again has the typical bevy of netbook-like features. For example, there's a VGA-resolution webcam, three USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet port, and a VGA output. Also included are audio jacks (headphone out and line in) and a MMC/SD card reader, the company says.
Asus says the T101MT is equipped with 1GB of RAM when equipped with the Windows 7 Starter operating system, and 2GB of RAM when equipped with Windows 7 Home Premium. A lithium-polymer battery powers the 2.86-pound device for up to 6.5 hours, the company adds.

Windows 7 Starter Edition, featured on the base T101MT (as well as some other convertible netbooks, such as Lenovo's S10-3t), does not support multi-touch input. Therefore, Asus has provided the system with a proprietary touch-based interface (above) with "large icons that make it easy to find and launch programs."
