Axiomtek's new GOT-5120T-830 is one of many panel PCs offered by this company (the 8.4-inch GOT-5840T-830, which was similarly Intel-based, was released in August, while the AMD-based GOT-5571TL-621, was released in July). Typically featuring fanless operation and CompactFlash storage, the devices target factory and building automation applications, and are said to offer superior resistance to vibration.
The GOT-5120T-830 uses Intel's familiar, 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, with the usual 945GSE northbridge and ICH7M southbridge. A single SODIMM slot is said to accept up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, while operating system and data storage is provided by a CompactFlash slot or by a 2.5-inch SATA hard disk drive (optional).

The GOT-5120T-830, pictured above left, is equipped with an 12.1-inch touchscreen display, featuring a relatively low resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. Interfaces, all located at the bottom of the device (above right) include two serial ports (one RS232/422/485 and one RS232), a VGA output, a gigabit Ethernet port, two USB 2.0 ports, and line audio output, according to Axiomtek.
Axiomtek says the GOT-5120T-830 is manufactured with a built-in wireless LAN antenna. While the WLAN adaptor isn't standard equipment, it may be added using the panel PC's PCI Express Mini Card slot, as can a cellular modem, the company says.
The GOT-5120T-830 is designed to run either Windows XP Embedded or Windows CE, according to Axiomtek. When CompactFlash storage is employed, the panel PC is said to withstand vibration of up to 2Grms while it is operating.
