Bsquare has updated its tool for creating Windows CE board support packages (BSPs). Designed to operate with Microsoft's Platform Builder tool, SchemaBSP version 6.0 reportedly supports new processor types and is now compatible with Windows CE 6.0.

SchemaBSP now supports Marvell PXA3xx application processors (aka Monahans), for which Bsquare recently announced three DevKit development platforms. Bsquare expects "a handset OEM using the PXA320 for a high-end, multimedia cell phone or a GPS OEM choosing the PXA300 for a personal navigation device [to] find that SchemaBSP's production-quality configurable source code helps them get their devices to market," the company said in a statement.

Bsquare says the new release also adds support for the Intel IOP341 and IOP342 I/O processors. These are typically used to build Network Attached Storage (NAS) appliances featuring RAID, Bsquare said.

Finally, SchemaBSP 6.0 reportedly adds support for booting Windows CE from NAND flash memory. The product's configurable source code includes support for vendor-specific solutions such as the SanDisk mDOC H3.

Bsquare says SchemaBSP now contains over 250 configurable Windows CE software components, including boot loaders, OEM Adaptation Layer (OAL) components, system modules, and device drivers.

Available now, SchemaBSP 6.0 is priced at approximately $15,000.
