Adeset has released a Bluetooth manager for Windows CE 4.2 and 5.0 that supports headless device operation by making a clean separation between the GUI layer and the core engine. The package is built on the Windows CE Bluetooth stack, resulting in maximum compatibility, according to the company.

Adeset says the manager exposes a simple API that is easier to work with than the native Bluetooth stack. It implements all standard Bluetooth features such as enumeration, authentication, pairing, local services, and remote services.

Specifically supported profiles are said to include:
        • FTP profile
          • Connection to remote service
          • Directory and files management
          • Files upload and download
        • OPP profile
          • Connection to remote service
          • objects upload
        • SPP profile
          • Connection to remote service
          • Publication of local service
          • Full serial port emulation
The Bluetooth manager is offered in three forms. The time-limited, full function evaluation version is available free by contacting the company. The royalty-free binary version is priced at $1,000. The source code version, available as a Platform Builder component, sells for $5,000.

Adeset is also known as the Adetel Group.
