Atinav has added support for the Bluetooth human interface and audio/video device profiles to its Bluetooth protocol stack. The aveLink Bluetooth Suite supports a variety of software environments including Windows CE, according to the company.

The Human Interface Device (HID) profile defines the protocol, procedures, and features needed by user-input Bluetooth devices such as keyboards, pointing devices, and barcode readers. Atinav says its HID profile implementation can be used to transition products from a wired to wireless mode of operation.

Additionally, Atinav implemented the A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) and GAVDP (Generic Audio Video Distribution Profile), which it says provide seamless distribution of high quality, stereo audio According to the Atinav, the protocols enable devices such as MP3 players, audio systems, in-car infotainment systems, televisions, mobile phones, PDAs, gaming devices, and other mobile devices to deliver high quality audio over Bluetooth.

In addition to HID, A2DP, and GAVDP support, the aveLink Bluetooth suite also provides support for the Basic Imaging Protocol (BIP), Basic Print Protocol (BPP) profiles, and the Hardcopy Cable Replacement Profile (Bluetooth HCRP) profile in a variety of environments including Windows CE, according to the company.

Atinav says its profiles are developed in pure ANSI C and can easily be integrated with various embedded platforms. The company offers SDKs for both Windows CE and Linux.
