Bsquare products that will be distributed by Wellbean include
SDIO Now!, a mobile device software stack for Windows CE and Linux that supports the use of MMC and SD memory cards, as well as SDIO peripherals such as digital cameras, GPS receivers, and WiFi cards.
Wellbean will also offer
SchemaBSP, a software development add-on for Microsoft's Platform Builder that Bsquare recently
acquired from Vibren Technologies, and will provide engineering services in support of Bsquare's
Windows CE BSPs (board support packages) and hardware reference platforms, including the new Intel PXA270 DevkitIDP platform scheduled to ship in Q1 2006.
"Japan is an important market for [our] products and services, and we believe that there are incremental revenue opportunities for Bsquare that cannot be realized out of our Bellevue or Taiwan operations," said CEO Brian Crowley. "Wellbean is an ideal partner for [us] because they are well established in the Japanese market, have a great reputation with Japanese Smart Device OEMs, and have the sales channel and technical expertise to provide selling, porting and development services to meet the specific needs of Japanese customers."
