The Clio NXT,
announced last month, continues the previous Clio's unique "SwingTop" design and near-full-sized keyboard (pictured above), but incorporates updated technologies such as built-in 802.11 (Wi-Fi) wireless, a larger screen, a 400MHz XScale processor, USB connectivity, multiple memory slots, MP3 player functions, and audio input/output ports. It will run Windows CE 4.2.
Bsquare says it is participating in the entire development cycle of the new Clio, with tasks that include extensive hardware design, platform and application software development, and quality assurance testing. Bsquare says its efforts will help Data Evolution to differentiate the Clio NXT, by leveraging the rich capabilities of Windows CE.
Bsquare is a leading provider of Windows Embedded products and related engineering and support services.
Data Evolution plans to begin shipping the Clio NXT in early 2005 and is currently accepting pre-orders.
