Bsquare has inked a deal that enables it to distribute Datalight's Reliance Embedded File System and FlashFX Pro flash memory media management software to its Windows Embedded customers, which it describes as "smart device OEMs and ODMs."

Datalight characterizes its proprietary Reliance file system as a "highly reliable" transactional file system that preserves both user and metadata on embedded devices in the event of an unexpected power interruption. FlashFX Pro is described as a "high performance," multi-threaded flash media manager for devices using resident flash memory for mass storage.

In addition to providing Reliance and FlashFX Pro software licenses to Windows Embedded OEMs and ODMs, Bsquare says it can also integrate either package into an operating system image for a customer.

"Datalight has developed uniquely valuable solutions for embedded systems that simply cant be found anywhere else, noted Brian Crowley, CEO of Bsquare. "Now our customers have easier access to those products."
