        CE .NET powered handheld is optimized for retail POS

        Logostek and ITWELL (Seoul, Korea) have collaborated to introduce a Windows CE .NET based handheld computer for retail POS (point of sale) applications with integrated bar code scanner, magnetic strip reader, printer, and optional CDMA/GSM wireless modem.


        Combining the functions of a PDA, printer, bar code scanner, and credit card reader into an all-in-one device optimized for POS applications saves cost and also eliminates cumbersome use and configuration hassles, the companies say.

        The XPDA-9's key features and specifications include . . .

        • Processor -- 206MHz Intel StrongArm SA1110
        • Memory -- 64MB SDRAM plus 32MB Flash
        • Display -- 3.5-inch QVGA (240 x 320) reflective TFT LCD with touch screen
        • Input keys -- 12 numeric keys and 6 programmable keys
