China ComputerWorld cited several key features of the OS that led to the award:
- Support of DIRECT 3D that significantly improves the display quality of games and applications
- Strict control on RAM that dramatically improves the security and stability of data storage
- Encrypted WLAN enhances the flexibility of wireless connection
- Support for USB 2.0
- Built-in Windows Media Player 10 Mobile
China ComputerWorld said that another advantage of Windows Mobile 5.0 is "[Microsoft's] marketing capabilities, experience, and resources in the PC industry, which can effectively integrate application tools with the operating system, bringing about a more powerful experience to end users."
China ComputerWorld boasts a circulation of some 230,000. It was jointly founded in 1980 by the Ministry of Information Industry of China and IDG media.
