Switzerland-based Digital-Logic has announced what is claimed to be the first SBC to use the PCI/104-Express extension to PC/104 that it co-developed with Lippert and RTD Embedded Technologies The MSM945CX, in turn, incorporates a COM...

Digital-Logic's approach replaces the original PC/104 ISA bus connector with four 1-lane and either two 4-lane or one 8-lane PCI Express connections for a total of twelve lanes. The standard PC/104-Plus 32-bit PCI bus connector remains. This is in apparent conflict with the format being considered by the PC/104 Consortium, which replaces the PCI connector with PCI Express and leaves the ISA connector.

Digital-Logic's format is also being recommended to the PC/104 Consortium, however, according to the company.
