(Click for larger view of SBC0489)The SBC0489's Atlas processor is clocked from 66 to 133 MHz. The processor features a Pentium-like x86 instruction set, 64-bit DRAM access, an FPU (floating point unit), and PC/AT-compatible interrupt, timer, and DMA controllers.
The video system includes 2D acceleration, and can power TFT flat panels or CRTs up to 1024 x 1024, Micro/sys says. I/O interfaces include 10/100MHz Ethernet, two serial ports, a parallel port, SVGA port, keyboard, mouse, floppy, IDE, and an 8x8 matrix touchscreen or keypad interface.
Also included are 24 CMOS I/O lines from an 82C55, eight channels of 12-bit A/D, four channels of 12-bit D/A, and three 16-bit timers from an 82C54. If needed, I/O expansion can be added to the SBC0489 through stackable PC/104 and PC/104-Plus modules.
The SBC0489 comes pre-loaded with a firmware environment that includes an industrial BIOS and an execution environment for 16-bit DOS executables. It also supports Windows CE, MS-DOS 5.0, Linux, and some unspecified real-time operating systems (RTOSes).
