(Click here for a larger view of the Moxa UC-7122 and UC-7124)The main difference between the two models appears to be that the UC-7122 includes two RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 serial ports with male DB-9 connectors, whereas the UC-7124 includes four RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 serial ports with RJ45 connectors. Both use the ARM 9-based
Cirrus Logic EP9302 SoC (system-on-chip) running at 200 MHz.
The devices reportedly include 32 MB of RAM and 16 MB of flash memory. While both lack video display output circuitry, they may be accessed via Telnet, FTP, or a Web-based administration manager, the company says. There is also a separate RS-232-based console/debugging port.
In addition to a built-in watchdog timer, real-time clock (RTC), and buzzer, the devices feature dual 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports that provide redundancy, according to Moxa. Their serial ports are said to support any speed, from 50 bps to 921.6 Kbps.
Finally, the UC-7122 and UC-7124 include an SD slot for storage expansion or data transfer, plus a single USB 2.0 port. They also include LEDs that monitor system ready status, SD data transfer, and serial port activity.
