Comfile Technology has announced two touchscreen computers that target home or factory automation. The Cuwin3200 and Cuwin3500 both run Windows CE 5.0, and have seven-inch displays with 800 x 480 resolution, 10/100 Ethernet, USB host and device ports, three serial ports, and SD expansion slots.

The Cuwin3200 and Cuwin3500 are identical devices that both use the same single-board computer, display, and chassis. The Cuwin3500 adds a case claimed to have a waterproof front.

Both devices have seven-inch touchscreen displays with 800 x 480 resolution, plus unspecified ARM920T-based processors clocked at 266MHz. They have 64MB of RAM, 64MB of flash storage, and SD slots that can be used to add storage.

Ports on the devices include 10/100 Ethernet, USB host, USB device, and stereo audio output. The Cuwin3200 and Cuwin3500 also have three serial ports, two RS232-only, and one switchable between RS232 and RS485.

DIP switches on the side of the computers configure the speed of the serial ports. They also control whether the devices will boot to the Windows CE 5.0 desktop, or run only a single program. In the latter mode, the Cuwin3200 or Cuwin3500 will look for and load an .EXE that was previously placed in a specific AutoRun folder. Comfile recommends that .EXE files be stored on an SD card, because available flash memory is actually under 3MB, due to included fonts and other files.
