Ports on the devices include 10/100 Ethernet, USB host, USB device, and stereo audio output. The Cuwin3200 and Cuwin3500 also have three serial ports, two RS232-only, and one switchable between RS232 and RS485.

Comfile's Cuwin3500DIP switches on the side of the computers configure the speed of the serial ports. They also control whether the devices will boot to the Windows CE 5.0 desktop, or run only a single program. In the latter mode, the Cuwin3200 or Cuwin3500 will look for and load an .EXE that was previously placed in a specific AutoRun folder. Comfile recommends that .EXE files be stored on an SD card, because available flash memory is actually under 3MB, due to included fonts and other files.
