Advantech has released a new 3.5-inch format single-board computer (SBC) based on the AMD Geode LX 800@0.9W processor.

The PCM-9375 "biscuit" form-factor SBC includes an extensive set of PC-style interfaces, and delivers high performance along with "superb power consumption," according to the company.

Advantech says the PCM-9375's total power consumption is around 6W with 256 MB of DDR memory and 256 MB of CompactFlash. The unit has the same mechanical design and layout as an earlier Geode GX1-based board, and thus offers a potential upgrade path for designs based on the GX1 model.

Typical applications are expected to include machine control, portable medical equipment, and gaming, according to the company.
