Both the COM840 and XTX840 are said to feature the Core 2 Duo L7500 processor clocked at 1.6 GHz. Using the Intel GME965 chipset, both also have a 1 MB second-level cache and a 800 MHz front-side bus.
The Intel GMAX3100 chipset offers 384 MB of memory, eight fully programmable execution cores, and full DirectX 10 compliance. Ampro says this makes the modules "suitable for ultra-high-performance applications that require high-end graphics."
Apart from the form-factors -- one being compatible with the
COM Express standard, and the other with the
XTX specification -- there are some differences between the two modules, as noted in the specification lists below. For example, the COM840 has Gigabit Ethernet and RAM expansion up to 4 GB, whereas the XTX840 has 10/100 Ethernet and accepts up to 2 GB of RAM.

Both modules appear to be available now, though pricing was not announced. Windows CE 6.0 and Windows XP Embedded are specifically supported, and the modules also run Windows XP and Linux, Ampro said.
