(Click here for a larger picture of the UNO-2172)Housed in a rugged aluminum enclosure with top-mounted heat sink, the UNO-2172 is offered with either a 1.5 GHz Celeron M processor or a 1.6 GHz Pentium M. Its standard memory complement is 1 GB of DDR2 SDRAM, and the device also includes 512 KB of battery-backed SRAM, Advantech said.
As noted, the device has a PCI-104 expansion location, plus a PC Card slot that supports both 32-bit CardBus and 16-bit PCMCIA 2.1. In addition, there is an internal Type I/II CompactFlash slot and room for a 2.5-inch SATA-1 HDD, according to the company.

Advantech's UNO-2172 boasts four serial portsThe UNO-2172 offers four serial ports with DB-9 connectors, and two Gigabit Ethernet ports. Also said to be included, and less common on an automation-oriented computer, is a DVI interface that supports dual displays.
