SJJ Embedded Micro Solutions has released a hardware/software development kit supporting Windows XP Embedded SP2 Feature Pack 2007. The "Industrial Development Kit" (IDK) includes software tools, a compact PC-compatible computer, and documentation, and supports XPe FP2007's new capability of booting from a USB flash device,...

        according to the company.

The IDK comprises both hardware and software components, including: a small enclosure containing an Advantech PCM-9375 single-board computer (SBC); pre-built XP Embedded software components; and SJJ's Windows XP Embedded Supplemental Toolkit -- Tools Release 2 software package.

The PCM-9375 SBC (pictured at right) is based on an AMD Geode LX800 processor, and comes with 512MB of RAM. Its I/O complement includes: 4 serial ports, 4 USB 2.0 ports, parallel port, 8 general-purpose I/O lines, dual 10/100 Ethernet ports, VGA/LCD/TV output, AC97 audio, PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports, and PC/104 expansion.

The tools included in SJJ's Windows XP Embedded Supplemental Toolkit "are designed to help developers in several areas of XP Embedded projects such as creating components, finding resources, version control, and documentation," SJJ managing director Sean Liming said.

The IDK is the first in a new series of SJJ development kit products, Liming added.

The kit is immediately available from SJJ's website, priced at $875.
