Jungo released the latest version of its device driver development toolkit. WinDriver 6.20 is a multi-platform toolkit that aims to simplify the development of device drivers for PCI, CardBus, ISA, PMC, PCI-X and CompactPCI, and supports Microsoft's Visual Studio .NET development environment.

No knowledge of OS internals or kernel-level programming is required, according to the company.

Features of the new release include:
        • DMA and other performance enhancements
        • Improved user interface and code samples
        • "Virtual" PCI driver development -- offers the ability to develop a driver before the hardware is ready
        • Enhanced performance for USB 2.0 Isochronus devices
        • Improved multiple USB device handling
A comprehensive list of all new features, enhancements, and bug fixes, is available here. The company offers a "full-featured" 30-day evaluation download.
