It also features a full alphanumeric keyboard plus a directional keypad, 4P says. The device's wireless functions are manifold, including GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) cellular capabilities, 802.11b/g WLAN, Bluetooth WPAN, and IrDA.

Given that thermal printers operate at the same speed no matter what they are printing, 4P rates this one in terms of paper throughput: 2.75 inches (70 mm) per second.

The FDA600 has a rear-mounted SD/MMC slotAbove the top of the printer, the FDA600 also incorporates a card reader, which can read either three-track magnetic cards or smart cards. The device also includes 13.56 MHz RFID (ISO 15693 Smart Label, 14443 A/B Mifare) and a 1D/2D barcode scanner.
