CE .NET 4.2's new file system, BinFS, allows enhanced utilization of system resources in NAND-based devices, and according to M-Systems, this "implements a demand paging mechanism for the OS files that enable a faster boot process, significantly lower RAM allocation, and safer operation." CE .NET also includes native support for the USB mass storage class driver, extending support to the company's DiskOnKey platform.
M-Systems' TrueFFS 5.0, boot SDK, and a "ruggedized" file system (RFS) for DiskOnChip are now available to developers.
