Dopod, soon to be acquired by HTC, has announced two new Windows Mobile 5.0 handsets.

The Dopod 838Pro and 595 appear to match the pair of devices HTC recently said it planned to offer under its own brand.

Dopod says its 838Pro is the first 3G PDA phone with a sliding keypad. It appears to be a Dopod-branded version of the HTC TyTN Pocket PC phone (pictured above, at the left). Details on the TyTN are available in this WindowsForDevices device profile:

According to Dopod, the 838Pro's 2 Mpixel camera has a "unique macro lens and mirror," and boasts "eight shooting modes with five different effects." The device comes with PenPower WorldCard Mobile, an application that OCRs business cards and saves the data to the Outlook database.

The Dopod 595, an "ultra-thin, stylish candy-bar device," appears to be a Dopod-branded version of the HTC MteoR Smartphone (pictured above, at the right). Details on the MteoR are available in this WindowsForDevices device profile:

        Pricing and Availability

Both the 838Pro and the 595 are expected to be available later this month in Singapore, according to Dopod. The 838Pro will be priced at S$1,398 (about $889 US) and the 595 will sell for S$998 (about $635 US). Both prices are reduced by S$150 with a two-year contract.
