Acrosser has introduced an EPIC form-factor single-board computer (SBC) that runs Windows CE and Windows XP Embedded. The AR-B5230 supports Pentium M and Celeron M processors, and is aimed at applications such as panel PCs, transportation, and digital signage, according to the company.

The AR-B5230 uses Intel's 915GME chipset and ICH6 southbridge, with integrated GMA900 graphics controller. It accepts up to 1GB of 400/533MHz DDR2 RAM -- 128MB of which can be employed as video memory -- in a single SODIMM slot.

Video output is to both a VGA port and to DVI, the former mounted on the edge of the board and the latter available via a header on the board. The SBC offers a dual-channel 18-bit LVDS interface and an LCD inverter power connector, supporting both 3.3V and 5V LCDs, according to Acrosser.

The AR-B5230 also has AC'97 compatible audio circuitry, with line and mic input jacks, and 5:1 surround sound output. Audio connections are made via headers, but edge connectors on the board include a serial port (one of four), two USB ports (out of four total), the dual 10/100 Ethernet ports, and a PS/2 connector for keyboard and mouse.

Features and specifications cited by Acrosser for the AR-B5230 include:
