        Embeddable PC runs Windows XPe

        The fanless XceedPC/Geode features a 7.7 x 9-inch footprint, and average power dissipation of around 10 Watts. The standard configuration includes four USB 2.0 ports, four RS232 ports, 10/100 Ethernet, audio, and either DVI or VGA video outputs. Built-in options include a hard drive, CompactFlash, additional input/output ports, and wireless networking.

        Smart lists the following key features and specifications for the XceedPC/Geode:
        • Processor -- AMD Geode LX800 at 433 or 500 MHz
        • Memory -- 128, 256, or 512 MB of DDR RAM
        • Display:
          • DVI or VGA connector option
          • Max. TFT resolution -- 1600 x 1200 x 24 bits
        • Storage options:
          • 40 to 120 GB hard drive
          • 256 MB to 24 GB of flash memory (device type unspecified)
          • CompactFlash card expansion
        • I/O ports, standard:
          • 10/100 Ethernet, RJ45
          • 4 USB 2.0
          • 4 RS232 on 9-pin D connectors
          • audio -- AC97 compliant with stereo out and mic in jacks
        • Communications options:
          • 56k V.92 analog Socketmodem

        • Dimensions -- 9 x 7.7 x 2.125 inches (229 x 196 x 54 mm)

        In addition to Windows XP/XPe, the XceedPC/Geode is also available with support for Linux 2.6, according to Smart.

        Price and availability were not disclosed. The company will demonstrate the XceedPC/Geode at the Global Gaming Expo next week in Las Vegas.
