Bsquare has released Windows CE 5.0 BSPs (board support packages) for a range of Intel's "Embedded Intel Architecture" chipsets. Intel and Bsquare collaborated to develop the Windows CE BSPs in response to growing demand in gaming, industrial control, and medical device applications, Bsquare said.

Specifically, Bsquare says it has completed development and testing of Windows CE 5.0 BSPs for a number of Intel's embedded Intel Architecture chipsets, including the Mobile 915GME Express Chipset, the 855GME Chipset, and the 852GM/GME Chipset. The company will be demonstrating Windows CE running on the 91GME Express Chipset Development Kit at this week's Microsoft Mobile and Embedded Developer Conference in Las Vegas.

According to Carey Butler, Bsquare's VP of Professional Engineering Services, "Windows CE OEMs are demanding lower-power and scalable processor solutions like the Mobile Intel 915GME Express Chipset. By utilizing Bsquare's expertise, OEMs can realize the full advantage of using the Embedded Intel Architecture Chipsets with Windows CE."

Bsquare says the binary BSPs will be available for download from its website. Customization services, including porting to Windows CE 6.0, are also available.
