FirstHand (formerly known as SIPquest) says its products "project PBX features into the mobile domain."

The Mobile Assistant client is said to confer enterprise telephony and directory services to smartphones, including: call screening; extension dialing; a searchable, presence-enabled enterprise directory; group calling; and non-SMS instant text messaging. Instead of seeing a cellphone number, outside callers dial a number associated with the enterprise, and access enterprise voice mail instead of that provided by a carrier.

To these feature, the Mobile Console client adds automatic handoff from an enterprise WiFi network to an outside cellular (GSM/CDMA) network.

The company says its "Mobile Unified Communications" architecture also includes full call-screening capabilities for all calls - even four-, five-, or six-digit internal enterprise calls.

The company stated, "The solution is enabled by an intuitive unified communications user interface that includes corporate directory, presence, voice messaging, instant messaging, conferencing and more."

The new Windows Mobile 6.0 release follows up Windows Mobile 5.0 versions the company announced in 2006. Pricing was not disclosed.
