(Click here for a larger view of Ibase's CSB200-833 computer)The CSB200-833 is built around Ibase's 3.5-inch
IB883 SBC (single board computer) announced in August 2008 for use in automation, industrial control, and data acquisition systems. The IB883 accommodates its
Intel Atom N270 and 945GMS northbridge and ICH7M southbridge with up to 1GB of DDR2 memory.

Due to space constraints, it apparently lacks the SBC's support for CompactFlash and PCI Express x1 expansion, but provides a built-in 2.5-inch hard disk drive, and for video, it offers a DVI port.
The full CSB200-833 system measures 6.8 x 4.5 x 2.0 inches, and can sit on a desktop or be wall-mounted, says Ibase. Equipped with a 60W power supply, the fanless system is said to withstand temperatures of up to 113 deg. F.

The underlying IB883 SBC adopts the so-called "3.5-inch" SBC form factor, which actually measures 5.75 x 4 inches, but matches the dimension of 3.5-inch components like floppy drives and memory card readers. Historically popular with Taiwanese embedded SBC makers, the format allows a board to include a mix of standard "real world" connectors and pin headers.
AvailabilityThe CSB200-883 is available now, according to IBase, which did not specify pricing or operating system support. Most Atom-based products, however, are compatible with Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE 6.0, and Linux. A lower-cost "883M" model is also available without the hard drive.
