Unlike previous projectors we've covered (see the links at the end of this story for a list), however, the PJM-3000 (above) is said to have a native resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. This provides it with a 16:9 aspect ratio that is ideal for watching DVDs and Blu-ray films, according to Favi.
Favi says supported still formats include JPEG and BMP; video formats include MPEG-4, AVI, MOV, 3GP and MP4; and audio formats, relayed through built-in speakers, include MP3, WMA, OGG, AAC, WAV, PCM, and ADPCM. PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and PDF documents may all be opened and displayed, while an integral touchpad provides fingertip control, the company adds.
According to Favi, the device is rated at 20 lumens (typical of the other pico projectors we've seen) and can project images up to 100 inches diagonally. The PJM-3000 has an internal battery that is said to power it for up to 1.4 hours.
Weight and dimensions were not cited, but the PJM-3000 appears to be readily portable. Unlike projectors of the past, it requires no fan, according to Favi.
Jeremy Yakel, president of Favi, stated, "As a follow up to our LED projectors launched last year, we are pleased to debut at CES 2011 a new LED projector that offers much more versatility with a built-in touchpad and fully functional operating system -- ideal for businesses, sales personnel and other remote employees."
Further information
According to Favi, the device will be sold exclusively from its website and will cost approximately $300. The PJM-3000 does not yet appear to be listed, but there's a list of other Favi projectors.
