About the technologyMicrosoft's Fingerprint Reader technology aims to replace typed passwords with an intuitive interface that makes replacing passwords "a snap." In operation, the Registration Wizard opens and helps users to register their fingerprints. Then, when they visit a site that requires a password, they touch the Fingerprint Reader with any registered finger, enter their data, and then click OK. And that's "the last time you need to enter that information," says Microsoft. "Now, you can browse to the Web site, and then log in with a swipe of the finger or log in with a click of the mouse via Quick Links."
