        Microsoft has released an evaluation kit enabling developers to start creating applications targeting Windows Mobile 5.0-based Pocket PCs and smartphones prior to the official release of Visual Studio 2005. The free Windows Mobile 5.0 Developer Evaluation Kit DVD includes developer tools, white papers, and training videos, according...

        The kit includes the following tools:
        • Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK for Pocket PC
        • Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK for Smartphone
        • Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2
        • ActiveSync version 4.0
        • Microsoft Device Emulator 1.0 Community Preview
        System requirements for running the kit include:
        • 1.5 GHz computer with 512 MB of RAM, supporting at least 1024 x 768 resolution and 32-bit color
        • DVD drive
        • Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or later, or Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later
        • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or later
