The LifeBook MH380, offered in "Gorgeous Brown," "Ivory White," and "Diamond Black," along with a "understated yet sophisticated chrome-ring outline," includes a 1.3 megapixel camera, 10/100 Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n wireless networking, and Bluetooth 2.1, according to Fujitsu. In addition to an 82-key keyboard with 1.5mm key pitch, the device has both a multi-gesture touchpad and a scroll wheel, the company adds.
Fujitsu says the LifeBook MH380 includes 1GB of RAM (expandability not cited), a 250GB hard disk drive spinning at 5400rpm, plus the ability to read SD and SDHC memory cards. Interestingly, the device also appears to have both USB host and device ports, since it may be attached to another computer, to which it then appears as a USB hard drive, the company adds.
The LifeBook MH380 also includes software that allows it to access a desktop computer's DVD or CD optical disk drive, according to Fujitsu. Other software additions for the Asian model are said to include CyberLink YouCam software, plus ThinkFree's Mobile Office Suite, the latter providing "easy access and editing of presentation slides, word documents and spreadsheets." The U.S. version, which will run Windows 7 Starter Edition, substitutes Microsoft Works 9.0 and a 60-day trial version of Microsoft Office Home and Student, Fujitsu adds.
According to Fujitsu, the LifeBook MH380 includes a six-cell battery that will provide more than seven hours of operation. The device weighs 2.97 pounds, the company adds.
Paul Moore, senior director of mobile management for Fujitsu America, stated, "The LifeBook MH380 mini-notebook represents the next generation in this class of product. Users will experience better performance while maintaining a very lightweight affordable PC."
