Quatech has introduced two new mobile connectivity product lines -- a set of Bluetooth adapters, and a family of global positoning system (GPS) receivers -- that support Pocket PC based handheld platforms.

In addition to the CompactFlash GPS receiver shown above, Quatech has also introduced GPS receivers that interface via Bluetooth and USB (shown at right) -- all of which can be used to GPS-enable laptop, notebook, tablet, and handheld computers. The high-power GPS receiver combines proven technologies that allow computers to receive highly accurate positioning data for reliable tracking capabilities, Quatech says. GPSInfo testing software is included, and Microsoft Streets and Trips 2005 software is available as an option.

Quatech has also introduced three Bluetooth adapter models. The CompactFlash Bluetooth adapter provides Class II Bluetooth connectivity capable of communicating within a radius of 32 feet (10 meters). It implements a Type I CompactFlash interface, and can also be used in a standard PCMCIA slot via an optional adapter. USB Bluetooth adapters are available in Class I and Class II versions. The Class II adapter has an integrated antenna and provides a 32 foot range. The Class I adapter (shown at left) has an attached external antenna which enables communication within a radius of 328 feet (100 meters).
