(Click here for a slightly larger view of the WorldNav 3300)The WorldNav 3300 looks and operates much like any other PND (portable navigation device). However, a "one-time" procedure lets drivers configure the device with information about their vehicle. A "truck settings" menu (below, left) permits entering a vehicle's height, weight, length, width, and Hazmat class. A "route settings" menu (below, right) permits mandating truck routes, and optionally disallowing ferries or toll roads.

- Bridge heights and clearances
- Load limits
- One-way roads
- Left-hand and dangerous turn restrictions
- Ten different Hazmat classes
Additionally, the WorldNav 3300's 12-million item POI (point of interest) database includes truck stops and weigh stations, in addition to typical consumer POIs such as lodging, banks/ATMs, and hospitals.
The WorldNav 3300 runs Windows CE natively on SiRF's Atlass III, a highly integrated SoC (system-on-chip) with a 372MHz ARM926EJ-S core. A faster version of the company's
Atlas II, the Atlas III has 30-channel, hardware-accelerated GPS baseband capabilities, Teletype said.
In addition to providing navigation, the WorldNav 3300 can play music or show photos on its built-in speaker and 3.5-inch touchscreen display. An SD slot holds extra maps or media files. Claimed life of the built-in 1000 mAh lithium-ion battery is four hours.
