        Microsoft is shipping updated versions of the Xbox 360 development hardware to replace the Apple PowerMac G5 based systems that were used to demonstrate games at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in May, according to...

        gamesindustry.biz reports that the processor and graphics chipset of the new Beta kits is "much closer to the final hardware that will appear in Xbox 360." Nevertheless, it still is not up to full speed.

        With the Xbox 360 console due on store shelves in the fourth quarter, gamesindustry.biz notes that developers only have about three to four months to complete games in time for the launch. Read the full story here...
