The Hurricane's 500 MHz Geode LX processor delivers high processing performance with very low power consumption, according to Lippert. The Geode-based SBC uses AMD's CS5536 I/O companion chip along with a ITE8712 "super I/O" chip to provide standard PC-compatible peripheral interfaces. The built-in graphics controller supports up to 1920 x 1440 VGA resolution. In addition to the standard PC-compatible interfaces, the board also integrates eight channels of 8-bit analog input, plus a high-speed, 8-bit input port aimed at video capture applications.

In addition to Windows XP Embedded and Windows CE, the board also targets embedded Linux and VxWorks, Lippert said.
