Also scheduled for release Saturday are North American regional versions of the Gizmondo Navigator 2006 GPS navigation software that was
released in Europe and the UK in August. Gizmondo Navigator is based on a customized version of CoPilot, developed by ALK Technologies. It provides detailed 2D and 3D street maps and turn-by-turn voice instructions to a specific house number or point of interest, according to Tiger. Four individual regions -- East Coast, Mid-West, West Coast, and South West -- will be available on SDIO cards, for $169 each. The entire USA is optionally available for $249.
A complete system bundle, including software and a
"SmartADDs-enabled" Gizmondo, will be priced at $399, according to the company.
