The four models in the MP377 line include touchscreen units with 12-, 15-, and 19-inch screen sizes, plus a model with a 12-inch screen size and function keys in place of the touchscreen. All units have two USB 2.0 and two Profinet/Ethernet ports, and CompactFlash for storage. A "retentive message buffer" feature stores critical data in the event of power failure, according to Siemens.

The Multi Panel series is distinguished by "high performance, openness and expandability," Siemens said. The units are supplied with Internet Explorer and Media Player and additional complex functionality can be added with Visual Basic scripts and Active X components. Also available, is the company's WinAC MP2007 PLC (programmable logic controller) software.

The MP377 series appears to be available now. Pricing was not disclosed.
