Hewlett-Packard has unveiled a new iPAQ PDA/phone that boasts push email and PIM data capabilities derived from the Windows Mobile 5.0 Messaging and Security Feature Pack. Bye, bye Blackberry

According to HP, Windows Mobile 5.0 Messaging and Security Feature Pack software on the device works in conjunction with Microsoft Exchange Server and Small Business Server to provide cost-effective messaging services.

Capabilities of this software combination include direct "push" of email, calendar, contacts, and tasks to the devices, through direct connection with Exchange Server or Small Business Server. This eliminates the added costs of third-party push solutions.

Additionally, HP says, the combination of these Microsoft technologies offers enhanced device and data protection without requiring additional data servers and software. IT administrators can remotely manage and enforce IT policies over the air and have the ability to remotely delete data on the device if it is lost or stolen.

HP claims the hw6900 is the first handheld to integrate four radios including quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 802.11b Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. It's also compatible with Skype Mobile software, according to the company.
