According to SiRF, the GSC3 receiver combines extremely high sensitivity with sophisticated navigation algorithms to provide real-time navigation, even through "urban canyons" and under dense foliage.
The GSC3 can track more than 20 GPS satellites using the equivalent of over 200,000 correlators and can acquire signals down to -159 dBm, according to SiRF. The 7 x 10 mm package includes an RF front end, GPS core, ARM7 baseband processor, and optional stacked flash. The company says its SiRFInstantFix technology acquires a first fix in as little as eight seconds.

GSC3 block diagramIn addition to the SiRFstar GPS receiver, the Windows Mobile 5.0-based P3300 includes an FM receiver along with WiFi, Bluetooth, and a 2 Mpixel camera. HTC says the unit is supplied with the latest TomTom software, Navigator 6, as well as Windows Media Player 10 plus the usual assortment of mobile productivity tools.
HTC says that T-Mobile will offer the P3300 in several European markets, where it will be dubbed the "MDA Compact III."
