Taiwanese ODM (original design manufacturer) HTC is about to release a new, self-branded Windows Mobile PDA phone in Europe and the Middle East. The slim P4350 features quad-band GSM/GPRS with EDGE, a "semi-automatic" sliding full QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a 2 Mpixel camera, according to the company.

At just two-thirds of an inch thick (17 mm), the P4350 may well be the thinnest PDA phone with a slideout keyboard. Unfortunately, HTC did not elaborate on what it means by "semi-automatic" in the context of the device's sliding keyboard.

The company lists the following key features and specifications for the P4350:
        • Processor -- 200 MHz, type not specified (likely a TI OMAP)
        • Memory -- 64 MB RAM; 128 MB flash
        • Display -- 2.8-inch QVGA TFT LCD with touch screen
        • Expansion -- microSD slot
        • Wireless:
          • Quad-band GSM/GPRS with EDGE
          • WiFi
          • Bluetooth 2.0
Florian Seiche, HTC's vice president for Europe and the Middle East, boasted, "With the HTC P4350 we've managed to package HTC's tremendously successful signature slide-out full QWERTY keypad design into one of our slimmest PDA Phones yet."

"We believe this device will be a big hit with the fast growing community of business and consumer mobile email and messaging fans," he added.

The P4350 is expected to be released throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in early December, according to HTC, with a suggested retail price of around $735.
