The ET4500g and ET5500g have minimal RAM/Flash memory resources and come equipped with Windows CE 5.0, while the ET4500x and ET5500x sport larger memory devices and come with Windows XP Embedded. The ET5500 "g" and "x" models have the same features as the ET4500 "g" and "x" models, but add a PCMCIA slot. All of the devices include support for Microsoft RDP and Citrix ICA protocols to access Windows-based applications, as well as multiple terminal emulations to access midrange, mainframe, UNIX, and other legacy applications, according to CLI. Internet Explorer is also standard. Additionally, the XPe versions support Windows Media Player and Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
